Privacy Policy — Georgian Keyboard
Last updated: August 27, 2026
Georgian Keyboard ("the app") is a custom iOS keyboard for typing Georgian (Mkhedruli script). This policy describes what data the app and its keyboard extension collect and how it is used.
What we do not do
- The keyboard does not transmit anything you type to us or to any third party.
- We do not operate a server that receives your keystrokes, word suggestions, or typed content.
- We do not sell data.
Data stored on your device
The app stores the following locally, in an App Group container shared between the container app and the keyboard extension. This data never leaves your device:
- Settings — keyboard layout mode, haptic/sound feedback toggles, onboarding state.
- Word suggestions — a bundled dictionary of common Georgian words, plus words you type often, stored in a local SQLite database to improve suggestion ranking. Recently used words and emoji are also stored locally for quick access.
None of this data is accessible to us; it lives in your device's local storage under your Apple ID and is removed if you delete the app.
Full Access permission
iOS requires "Full Access" for a custom keyboard to provide haptic feedback and keyboard click sounds. Full Access does not mean the keyboard sends your typing anywhere — it is only used locally for feedback and word suggestions. You can enable or disable Full Access at any time iniOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards.
Analytics (container app only)
The container app (not the keyboard extension) uses Firebase Analytics to understand app usage — for example, app opens and which screens are viewed. This helps us fix bugs and improve onboarding. Firebase Analytics does not receive anything you type.
See Google's privacy policy for how Firebase processes this data:policies.google.com/privacy.
Advertising
The container app displays banner ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising identifier, IDFA) and use them to serve and measure ads, subject to your iOS App Tracking Transparency choice. AdMob does not run inside the keyboard extension and never sees what you type.
See Google's AdMob/Ads privacy policy:policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
